Level Crossing Removal – Ormond Station
The Level Crossing Removal Project aims to remove dangerous and congested level crossings across metropolitan Melbourne that will make commuting safer and more efficient for pedestrians, public transport, and drivers.
The Level Crossing Removal Project at Ormond Station was redesigned to create a second entrance after feedback from the community. In addition to addressing the main concerns associated with the Level Crossing Removal Project, the second entrance addition will allow North Road to carry over 40,000 vehicles per day and improving access for local residents.
Ormond Station now has an extensive range of perforated mesh panels lining the platforms and handrails for commuters to allow safe access to the public transportation hub.
